In late February 2026, I recieved an offer for the NetGain PhD project “Nature markets and the future of crofting in the Western Isles”. This blog post will document how I am preparing for the start of my 4 year-long research project and include reflective updates on what I wish I had done differently in retrospect once my PhD commences.
